These Terms & Conditions govern your participation in retreats, workshops, and other offerings (collectively "Retreats") hosted by Maria Lamar in Nosara, Costa Rica, including stays at Casa Emilia, Playa Pelada.
By booking or participating in a Retreat, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. 📝 Booking & Registration
All Retreats require a formal registration through the reserve your spot form on this website or via email.
A deposit is required to secure your spot.
Spaces are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
I reserve the right to decline any booking at my discretion, with a full refund if needed.
2. 💳 Payments & Deposits
The total cost of the Retreat is outlined on the retreat page.
A non-refundable deposit (specified per retreat) is required to confirm your booking.
The remaining balance is due by the deadline stated in your booking confirmation.
Payment methods: Bank transfer or Wise.
Deposit ammount, receipts and booking confirmations are sent via email.
3. ❌ Cancellations & Refunds
I understand that life changes. Here is my cancellation policy:
More than 30 days before the Retreat:
50% of the total payment is refundable, excluding deposit.
Less than 30 days before the Retreat:
No refunds. No transfers.
In case of medical emergency or force majeure (e.g. flight cancellation):
We will discuss options for credit toward a future retreat o , on a case-by-case basis.
⚠️ I strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and delays.
4. 🧳 Travel & Accommodation
The Retreat takes place in Nosara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, hosted at Casa Emilia, Playa Pelada.
Accommodation details (room type, shared/private) are confirmed at the time of booking.
I am not responsible for flight delays, missed connections, visa issues, or local transportation organized not by me.
Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and insurance.
5. 🧘♀️ Participation & Health
Retreats include activities such as yoga, mindful cooking, water dance, cocoa circle, walking in nature, and group sharing.
These practices are offered as support for well-being, not as medical treatment.
You are responsible for your physical and emotional health. Please inform me in advance of any medical conditions, injuries, or dietary restrictions.
I reserve the right to exclude anyone from an activity if it may risk their safety or the group’s harmony.
6. 📸 Photos & Media
I may take photos or videos during the Retreat for personal, educational, or promotional use (website, Instagram, newsletters).
By participating, you consent to the use of your image in these contexts, unless you notify me in writing before the Retreat begins.
If you do not wish to be photographed, please let me know — your choice will be fully respected.
7. 🚫 Limitation of Liability
While I strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment, I am not liable for:
Injuries, accidents, or health issues during or after the Retreat.
Loss or damage to personal belongings.
Delays or changes due to weather, natural events, or local conditions
You participate voluntarily and at your own risk.
8. 🌿 Group Etiquette & Respect
Retreats are held in a spirit of presence, kindness, and mutual support.
Confidentiality, respect, and openness are essential.
Disruptive or harmful behavior may result in dismissal from the Retreat without refund.
9. 🔁 Changes to the Retreat
I reserve the right to modify the schedule, location, or content of the Retreat due to unforeseen circumstances.
If a Retreat is canceled by me (e.g. low enrollment, emergency), you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.
10. 🌐 Website & Online Content
All content on this website (text, images, recipes, videos) is the property of Maria Lamar and protected by copyright.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or sell any material without written permission.
Recipes and teachings are shared for personal use only.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica.
Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith discussion. If needed, mediation may be pursued.
